Spring Registration

Spring registration is approaching quickly!

The spring schedule is now live on Owl Express. If you haven't looked to see if you have a hold on your account yet, you should check that by logging in to Owl Express and then clicking on "Registration" and "View Academic Holds". Even if you don't think you have a hold, please check it out!

CV or Conversion Verification holds do not impact registration and should not be a hindrance to you. It is merely a flag set on your account by the Registrar if you were at SPSU pre-consolidation.

Time tickets have not yet been generated. That will likely happen closer to November.

If you need advice on what to register for in Spring, you may either contact amcclur6@kennesaw.edu or the advisor listed on your account if you go in to Owl Express, click on Student Records, then click "View Academic Transcript" (second from last link). Your advisor is listed under "Additional Academic Information", located under "Academic Information" and above "Academic History".

If you do not have an advisor assigned, please contact amcclur6@kennesaw.edu and let her know!

Be an Ignition Orientation leader or Flight Crew leader!

The Office of Orientation and Transition Programs offers multiple programs to the campus community. Key among these programs are two that focus on new students, first Ignition Orientation involves Ignition Leaders who assist with Orientation sessions over the summer. Ignition leaders are critical to successful orientation sessions and connecting new KSU students to the university.

Flight Crew Leaders are part of Owl Expedition, which provides first-time, first-year KSU students an opportunity to learn further about their university and its resources, meet and interact with their new classmates and fellow peers as well as faculty and staff, and promote student involvement with hopes of retention beyond the first year of school. Flight Crew Leaders are instrumental in the planning and successful implementation of the program. These leaders serve as small group facilitators and peer mentors to approximately 10-12 incoming first-year students before, during, and after the camp.

Why should you be a leader? Besides the excellent addition to your resume, you also get paid, lots of food, the ability to go to training and receive training materials and KSU gear. You will have a great opportunity to develop professional and personal relationships with faculty, staff and students, and provide fun and rewarding service to KSU. Oh yeah, and Ignition Leaders get early registration tickets.

Want to know more? Check out the Student Leadership page here: http://uc.kennesaw.edu/orientation/studentleadership.php

Once you read through the site and familiarize yourself with the position, attend an information session to learn more and contact the Office of Orientation and Transition Programs at 470-578-6219 or otpstudentleadership@gmail.com. Information Sessions will be held throughout the month of October at both campuses. Dates, times and locations are listed at the leadership page linked above.

Owl Express DegreeWorks Will Not Work Until December

Owl Express DegreeWorks will not work for IT students until December 2015

Students from SPSU should still have access to the Southern Poly DegreeWorks via Banner Web. You may access Banner Web here: https://banweb.spsu.edu/pls/PROD/twbkwbis.P_WWWLogin
Banner Web is not updated with this Fall semester's academic information.

If you are a new IT student as of Fall 2015, you will need to e-mail amcclur6@kennesaw.edu for guidance on what to take during the Spring semester.

Spring registration for continuing students will begin November 2nd.

Please keep in mind that registration time tickets will be issued based on your classification (e.g. freshman, sophomore, etc), special programs (e.g. honors, special needs, etc) and the amount of credit hours you have taken at KSU/SPSU. Registration will open for both the Kennesaw campus and Marietta campus at the same time.

If you have taken less than 30 credit hours (cumulatively) you probably have an Advising Hold on your account which will prevent you from registering for Spring.

To see if you have a hold on your account, log in to Owl Express, click on "Registration" and then click on "View Academic Holds" (4th link from the bottom).

You need to contact or visit Ashley McClure (amcclur6@kennesaw.edu) located in Atrium (J) Building, Office 353D to get the Advising Hold removed.

You may have additional holds on your account for other things, even if you have taken more than 30 credit hours. Check out our page on holds for how to get rid of them.
