The Office of Orientation and Transition Programs offers multiple programs to the campus community. Key among these programs are two that focus on new students, first Ignition Orientation involves Ignition Leaders who assist with Orientation sessions over the summer. Ignition leaders are critical to successful orientation sessions and connecting new KSU students to the university.
Flight Crew Leaders are part of Owl Expedition, which provides first-time, first-year KSU students an opportunity to learn further about their university and its resources, meet and interact with their new classmates and fellow peers as well as faculty and staff, and promote student involvement with hopes of retention beyond the first year of school. Flight Crew Leaders are instrumental in the planning and successful implementation of the program. These leaders serve as small group facilitators and peer mentors to approximately 10-12 incoming first-year students before, during, and after the camp.
Why should you be a leader? Besides the excellent addition to your resume, you also get paid, lots of food, the ability to go to training and receive training materials and KSU gear. You will have a great opportunity to develop professional and personal relationships with faculty, staff and students, and provide fun and rewarding service to KSU. Oh yeah, and Ignition Leaders get early registration tickets.
